Publication Policy & Ethics
Albukhary Social Business Journal (ASBJ) is dedicated to following best practices on ethical matters, errors, and retractions. The journal strictly adheres to the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and the Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers.
This website (https://asbj.aiu.edu.my) is owned and operated by Albukhary International University (AIU). By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by the terms below.
General Website Terms & Intellectual Property
Copyright and Intellectual Property: All contents on this site (collectively, the "Content"), is the property of AIU and its affiliated companies or licensors. Except for submissions delivered to AIU (which remain the property of their authors until transferred), the Content is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Permitted Use: You may print or download content for personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep all copyright and proprietary notices intact.
Prohibited Use: You may not copy, display, distribute, modify, publish, reproduce, store, transmit, or create derivative works from any content without permission. You may not use robots, spiders, or other automated programs to index or harvest data.
User Conduct: You may not use the site to publish illegal, abusive, obscene, or threatening content, or distribute viruses. ASBJ reserves the right to exercise editorial control over all submitted material.
Any questions regarding authorization should be directed to AIU.
1. Duties of Editors
- Publication Decisions: The editorial board is responsible for deciding which articles to publish, guided by journal policies, legal requirements, and reviewer recommendations.
- Review of Manuscripts: The Managing Editor ensures each manuscript is evaluated for originality via software. After passing, it is forwarded to at least TWO (2) reviewers for a double-blind review. The review period is up to 30 days.
- Equality: Manuscripts must be evaluated based on intellectual content without regard to race, gender, religion, or political philosophy.
- Confidentiality: Information about submitted manuscripts must not be disclosed beyond the author, reviewers, and Editorial team.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials must not be used in an editor's research without the author's written consent.
2. Duties of Reviewers
- Contribution & Qualification: Reviewers assist the editorial board in making decisions. Reviewers must be competent based on their academic background. If unqualified, they must notify the Managing Editor.
- Promptness: Authors receive acceptance feedback within two (2) weeks, and the first reviewer response within a further four (4) weeks.
- Confidentiality & Objectivity: Manuscripts are confidential. Reviews must be objective, supported by clear arguments, and personal criticism is inappropriate.
- Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers must identify relevant unpublished cited work and alert the Editor to any substantial similarity or overlap with other papers.
- Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must not consider manuscripts where they have a competitive, collaborative, or institutional conflict of interest.
3. Duties of Authors
- Reporting Standards: Authors must present an accurate account of their work, including sufficient detail and references. Raw data must be retained for at least two (2) years after publication.
- Originality and Plagiarism: Only entirely original works are accepted. Plagiarism (passing off, copying, or paraphrasing) is strictly unacceptable.
- Multiple Publication: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is prohibited. Published works remain the author's right, but ASBJ permits use under a CC BY license.
- Authorship: Authorship is strictly limited to those who contributed significantly to the conception, design, or execution of the study. All co-authors must approve the final version.
- Disclosure & Acknowledgment: Authors must disclose financial conflicts of interest and properly acknowledge the work of others.
- Fundamental Errors: If a significant error is discovered after publication, the author is obligated to promptly notify the Editor for correction or retraction.
4. Duties of the Publisher
- Handling of Unethical Behavior: In cases of alleged scientific misconduct or plagiarism, the publisher and Editors will take appropriate measures, including the publication of erratum or complete retraction of the affected work.
- Equality: The publisher does not discriminate based on age, color, religion, disability, national origin, race, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Access to Journal Content: The publisher is committed to the permanent availability of scholarly research through partnerships and digital archiving.
