Author Agreement

Introduction

The Albukhary Social Business Journal (ASBJ) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to archiving and disseminating knowledge in the field of social business and related areas. ASBJ operates without charging any publication fees and relies on the collaborative efforts of like-minded individuals to maintain and promote the quality and integrity of the journal.

This Agreement formalizes the collaboration between ASBJ and its Author, ensuring a shared commitment to the integrity and quality of research published in the journal. It further outlines the terms and conditions for establishing a constructive, unbiased, and professional review process for the manuscript submitted to ASBJ.

The term "Author" shall be used throughout this Agreement to refer to the individual or group of individuals submitting the manuscript. If there are multiple authors, all are bound by the terms of this Agreement.

Terms and Conditions

1. Manuscript Submission:

  • a) The Author confirms that the manuscript is an original work that contributes to the body of knowledge in social business and related areas and has not been published nor considered by any other publication elsewhere.
  • b) The Author warrants that all individuals listed as authors meet the criteria for authorship and that all contributors have given their consent for inclusion.
  • c) The Author agrees to make data available for sharing in accordance with ASBJ’s journal sharing policies and terms.

2. Academic Integrity and Ethics:

  • a) The Author confirms that all submitted work adheres to the highest academic integrity, regulations, and ethical standards concerning the content of the manuscript and the research conducted, including obtaining necessary approvals and consent.
  • b) The Author warrants that the manuscript is an original work and does not contain any content that constitutes plagiarism, including the unauthorized use of another person's work, ideas, or expressions without proper attribution and citation.
  • c) The similarity index shall be below twenty percent (20%) as per ASBJ’s requirements.
  • d) The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated content should be limited to five percent (5%) or less, and the Author must ensure that any AI assistance is disclosed and does not infringe on the originality of the work.
  • e) The Author acknowledges that any form of plagiarism or research misconduct, including failure to provide proper attribution and citation, may result in the rejection of the manuscript, withdrawal of publication, and reporting to the relevant academic, authority, and professional bodies.

3. Non-Monetary Compensation:

  • a) ASBJ does not offer any financial compensation for the publication of manuscripts.
  • b) Authors will receive recognition for their contribution in the form of publication in ASBJ, with the manuscript available in an open-access format for widespread dissemination and impact.
  • c) ASBJ expresses its deep appreciation for the significant time and effort contributed by the Author to the journal’s mission.

4. Copyright and Licensing:

  • a) By submitting a manuscript to ASBJ, the Author agrees to transfer the copyright of the work to ASBJ, granting the journal the exclusive right to publish, reproduce, and distribute the manuscript in any format.
  • b) The work will be published under an open-access license, allowing others to freely access, read, and cite the work while maintaining proper attribution to the original Author and ASBJ.
  • c) The Author agrees not to publish the same work elsewhere without written consent from ASBJ.

5. Conflict of Interest:

  • a) Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial, personal, or professional affiliates, that could affect the research or its publication.
  • b) There should be no conflict of interest between or among Authors contributing to the manuscript.

6. Authorship:

  • a) The Author confirms that all individuals listed as authors have made significant contributions to the research and the writing of the manuscript.
  • b) Any changes in authorship, such as adding or removing the name of individuals listed, must be approved by all the other co-authors, with a written justification submitted to ASBJ.

7. Peer Review:

  • a) The submitted manuscript will undergo a peer-review process, and the Author agrees to cooperate fully with all reviewers and editors to address any feedback.
  • b) The Author agrees to respond promptly to the reviewer’s comments and make necessary corrections to the manuscript as requested.
  • c) The Author must be open to constructive criticism and commits to improving the manuscript to align with ASBJ’s editorial standards.
  • d) The Author acknowledges that ASBJ reserves the right to make editorial decisions based on feedback from the editors.

8. Withdrawal Policy:

  • a) The Author may withdraw their manuscript at any point prior to publication by notifying ASBJ. However, withdrawal requests must be made in good faith, and ASBJ reserves the right to deny withdrawals if unethical practices are suspected.

9. Publication Decision:

  • a) The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript shall be made by ASBJ. The decision will be based on the manuscript’s originality, quality, and its contribution to the field of study.

10. Governing Law:

  • a) This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
